Jerome Tang on Michigan transfer Dug McDaniel

K-State officially announced the signing of Michigan transfer Dug McDaniel.

Here is Jerome Tang on the signing:

“It’s always a great day to be a Wildcat but even better when you get to welcome a player like Dug and his family to K-State,” said Tang. “Obviously he’s a tremendously skilled basketball player with a history of winning at both Paul VI and Team Takeover. When you combine that with playing two years in the Big Ten at Michigan it made him a priority for us as soon as he became available. Dug is not only a high-level scorer with the ability to create for his teammates, but a tough, relentless player who can also be a disruptor on the defensive end. Our fans are going to really enjoy getting to know him and his family.”

Kansas State hosting big-time transfer target

I can confirm reports of Michigan transfer Tarris Reed visiting Kansas State starting tonight.

Reed spent two seasons at Michigan and averaged nine points and seven rebounds this last season. He's very good around the basket with great hands.

Kansas State assistant coach Rodney Perry coached Reed in high school and AAU ball.

FB Recruiting: Update on OL Broderick Shull

Spoke to Bixby (Ok.) OT Broderick Shull yesterday (story coming tomorrow) about his recent visit to K-State.

It seems like the visit went well, and will consider K-State for an official visit in June. Sounds like they could receive one, but it might depend on who stands out from a pack of K-State, Nebraska, and Illinois. He has two OV spots available.

This commitment isn't close to over, though. He said he won't commit until October.

MBB: Tylor Perry to participate in NABC-Reese's College All-Star Game

K-State just announced that Tylor Perry will participate in the NABC-Reese's College All-Star Game on Friday in Phoenix, Ariz.

The game will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, as a part of the Final Four festivities. It is open to the public and will also air nationally on CBS Sports Network.

Perry is the first Wildcat to participate in the All-Star Game since Mark Smith in 2022. He'll be on the west team alongside names like Keisei Tominaga (Nebraska), Jesse Edwards (West Virginia), Jalen House (New Mexico), and others. The west team is coached by San Diego's Steve Lavin.

The east team is coached by Oakland's Greg Kampe and features NCAA Tournament sensation Jack Gohlke and Providence's Josh Oduro.

Potential non-conference scheduling link to watch for MBB

Obviously, scheduling won’t happen until further down the line, but something to keep an eye on.

John Jakus had his introductory press conference at Florida Atlantic, and he mentioned that he was an aggressive non-conference scheduler.

With K-State’s NET struggles for scheduling last season, it might make sense for Jakus and Tang — who were both assistants at Baylor — to schedule each other.

Tang obviously scheduled Paul Mills, another Baylor assistant, last season with Wichita State.

Still early and this will probably not come to fruition, but it is something to watch.
