1st time HCs. Both with strong recruiting backgrounds as assistants. Who has been more underwhelming during their first recruiting cycle as a new HC?
Got to thinking about this when I saw that OU lost a major WR commit to Oregon today.
At this point, it might actually be Venables given the school he's at and program he inherited. So far, he's not exactly knocking it out of the park with their 2023 class. Texas's overall quality early in the cycle, exceeds OU's by a wide margin (if you believe Rivals' rankings).
