Channeling my inner @ksufreak here by looking at how we stack up against our conference foes (I bet @KSU Flyer is wishing I would channel his innards)...
Just looking at the last 7 years (2015-current), it was interesting to see which programs hit 20 wins. I used the year the season started and not the year it ended, just for reference...

2018 - 8 teams (!!! this was the year we won the conference - holy shit!!!)

So all this is to say that some of the grand expectations some of our fanbase has currently may be a little too lofty. Could we say that we should/could have done better recently? Sure. Should we expect to be like KU and BU? Probably not. We need Tang to have us in the top third again pretty quick in the next two years. We need to reestablish our program as the default second or third best team in the conference asap, especially considering that we will be competing with Houston, BYU, and Cincy soon, too. It would suck to let Houston, for example, come in and take over that spot out of the gate. Similar to TCU and WVU in football when they came on, we need to relegate them to a middle tier team from the start and not let them get anything easily.
Another topic I'd like to explore is the current Big 12 versus the one we competed in when we all fell in love with KSU hoops when Huggy and Frank reenergized the program. They are two different conferences and one was a lot easier to compete in than the other. That also factors into our expectations. I am probably rambling now. My bad everyone. Thoughts?
