somebody mentioned down below in some thread about, "everyone has injuries, if this play if that play would have gone the right way" our season would have looked a whole lot different, etc. We are just making excuses for a bad team. Well, If you want to see the very definition of that just compare the records of 2011 and 2015. Those scores are incredibly comparable to this season.....EXCEPT for,
In the 2011 season we were in the majority of games, had minimal injuries, made those plays, and finished 10-2 with a blowout loss to OU.
In the 2015 season, we have some key injuries throughout the season, don't make those necessary plays, and finish 6-6 with a blowout loss to OU.
So yes, I think it is ok to say, wow, we finish just a few more plays and our record looks totally different.
It is a fine line between winning and losing (unless you're ku) this year we came up short, nothing to want to burn the house down over. We could have been looking at the same thing in 2011, except that team had IMO enough veterans in a majority of positions to help push over the top, this year, we had a lot of young guys who couldn't push us over the top.
