3 Positives:
- The defense was impressive all the way through, even with missing a few starters. It was just South Dakota, but this changes the perception of the season in a good way if the offense clicks like was expected
- Deuce Vaughn was steady and great as always, busted off pivotal runs, found the endzone, and was able to wrack up over 100 yards again. Another positive was that he only had to do it on 18 carries tonight and save the body a little bit.
- Adrian Martinez avoided the turnover bug and ran the ball well in game number one, 11 more to go...
3 Negatives:
- Adrian Martinez avoided big plays through the air in game number one. Hopefully not 11 more to go on that front. Not that it was all on Martinez, but the passing game left a lot to be desired for K-State. Especially since I figured they would try to bring the confidence of Martinez up early.
- Chris Tennant has a big leg, but the accuracy was absent tonight. He missed a PAT in the first half and then had an opportunity from 42 yards out in the second half and missed as well. Again, just one game and they didn't mean much for the result, but something to keep an eye on moving forward.
- Taylor Poitier went down with an injury in the game and Chris Klieman didn't have an update on the situation afterwards, add this to the players that were not able to go after Tuesday's practice, the K-State depth will be tested early. Most guys that rotated in and out did well in game one, but not what you want to start a season.
@alec.busse will have his tossed in here shortly, but let's hear what the 3 and 3 you all had from the game were?
