I may be riding a little too high off these last few performances, but I think Brown, Stokes, Wade, Sneed and Diarra will all play professionally.
I doubt Brown (size) and Stokes (athleticism) get much of a sniff at the NBA, but both should be able to catch on overseas at a minimum. But I don't think it's a stretch to think that, with their size, athleticism and production to date, the other three should have a chance to play in the league.
6'10" forwards with his athleticism who shoot 50% from 3 and you can run the offense through will never go out of style. Textbook faceup four. I think if he can continue to distribute the ball the way he's done lately (7 assists last night!) teams could project him into that point forward role that's becoming more and more popular (think the role that Draymond or Ben Simmons play). I think he def has room for improvement on the defensive end though.
Sneed is maybe an inch or two shorter than you'd like your wings, but his skillset perfectly fits with the 3 and D wings that are en vogue in the NBA right now. If guys like Xavier Henry, Kelly Oubre, Rodney McGruder, Wes Iwundu can carve out careers doing that, then surely Sneed can as well, right?
Diarra is probably the biggest stretch because it's based on such a small sample size, but what he's shown against two top 10 teams in KU and OU as a freshman is noteworthy. A 6'4" point guard with what appears to be borderline elite athleticism who is a lockdown defender that is accurate from 3 and is quickly learning how easily he can get to the rim. That stuff plays in the NBA.
Not saying any of these guys will be NBA superstars, but I do think they have the size and skill to get a chance to make a living in the league. I'm sure I'm oversimplifying and overlooking some holes in their games, but the NBA is all about potential and these guys have plenty of that. Anyways, that's my hot take, what do you think?
