According to data collected by USA Today on the finances of NCAA athletic departments, Kansas State University ranked #49 in athletic department revenue for the 2015-16 fiscal year at $77.9 Million. Out of P5 schools KSU ranked 48th out of 52 P5 schools (data was unavailable for several non state funded schools). I decided to compare KSU to the four Power 5 schools above us and below us on their athletic performance in the two major sports over the last 10 years to see how we measure up.

Commentary
Compared to schools with budgetary restraints similar to our own I think we have performed pretty darn well over the past 10 years. I think we have had the most overall success of any of these 9 programs.
What do you think?
Is this not the right peer group?
Are budgets not a considerable restraint to success?
Are schools in this area better off focusing on one sport or trying to succeed in both?
