Kentucky won by 5… pulled away in the last 2 minutes.
Davidson tied the game twice in the second half.
With 2:50 seconds left in the game, Davidson was down 2 points (59 to 61).

Kentucky pounded the paint and shot 51% from the field.
Kentucky was 0 from 6 from 3 point land (did not make one 3 point shot, but didn’t need to – pounded the paint and got a ton of free throws).

I didn’t watch the game, so I don’t know if the fouls that were called on Davidson were legit or not. In other words, did the referees have a Big Blue bias?
Kentucky was 26 of 32 (81%) from the charity stripe.
Davidson was 14 of 17 (82%).
Kentucky scored 12 more points from the charity stripe.

Kentucky collected 8 more rebounds than Davidson.
Kentucky had 10 TOs, Davidson had 9.
Kentucky had 6 steals, Davidson had 2.
Kentucky had 3 blocks, Davidson had 2.

How good is Davidson?
Davidson finished the year at 21 & 12 and won the Atlantic 10 tourney (or they would have not made the tourney). Davidson finished 3rd in the Atlantic 10.

Only two teams that finished below Davidson in the Atlantic 10 ended the season with a winning record (VCU 18 & 15 and Saint Louis 17 & 16).

Davidson is a good team, but I believe K-State is better.
And yes, I’m just talking about one game, but it was the first round game in the NCAA tourney and both teams had plenty of time to prepare for each other --- just like tomorrow’s game.

Note: Kentucky bounced back from a close game with Davidson to slap around 13 seed Buffalo in round 2. Kentucky shot the ball very well = Buffalo, not so much.

I’m just saying, Kentucky is not dominant, K-State can and will win the game…yeah baby !!
