We have been to Memphis several times, lots of things to do around the city and downtown.

Graceland tour. I'm not an Elvis "nut", but the tour of the mansion was really well done, we were there many years ago so we are going to try it again. We called today and reserved tickets for 9:00 AM Monday, that seemed like the best time. I expect a crowd during the day there. If you can't get into the mansion tour, the west side of the street has a lot of good things to see as well, and it is all new since we were last there. The Elvis auto Museum is also on the west side of the street and well worth the price of admission. It's all in a less than nice part of town, but they have a safe parking area and it's well patrolled.

The Peabody ducks. The ducks come down to the fountain at 11:00 AM and are walked back at 5:00PM. There is a large lounge there on the first floor with scores of tables and people come early and have drinks while they are waiting. It is quite a production and I think the K-State football team is staying there. We are staying across the street (Union Street) at the Holiday Inn.

The Cotton Museum at 65 Union avenue. Back in the day, Memphis was THE cotton trading market for the mid-south. I have raised cotton now for 22 years and even a non producer would find it interesting. Just a short walk from downtown.

National Civil Rights museum at the Lorraine Motel, 450 Mulberry Street. We missed this on our previous trips so we intend to go this time. I was a freshman in college at the time of MLK's assassination and it was a tumultuous time for sure.

Beale Street, you can't miss it, the Liberty Bowl parade will be there besides all the good places to eat. We really like the Blue's City Cafe.............awesome ribs.

Memphis Botanical Gardens, my wife loves seeing any gardens and their's were good, even in winter.

Mud Island River Park down by the river west of downtown We had a good time there, kids would love it

Bass Pro Shop..........east of Memphis. The only one I have ever been in. It may have moved to that huge pyramid north of downtown.

Riverboat tours and bus tours. Plenty to pick from I'm sure.

Memphis Zoo..........if that's your thing.

Looking forward to seeing lots of Cat fans there!
