Nothing major, but I’m sure once the season gets rolling the information will get better.
- Sounds like the secondary is looking freakishly good so far in practice. Besides the obvious like our starting corners being the real deal, also sounds like the safeties are more than capable of holding their own in the big 12. Goolsby is going to be special.
- As you may recall there was a pretty big game a few years ago on Thursday night to begin the season against Auburn. One of the staff members for Auburn is good friends with another staff member here at Kstate. Before the game they were jawing back and forth and of course the topic of football atmosphere came up and the Kstater requested that after the game was over that the Auburn staffer (been a member of Nat’l championship teams, orange bowl teams and been to every stadium in the SEC and ACC as well as most in the Big 10) be brutally honest about the experience. After the game was over he got a text that said “top 5 easily.”
- No surprise but Delton will serve as first backup based on the fact he knows the playbook better. FWIW I wouldn’t sleep on Delton, him and Skylar aren’t as far apart through the air as you might think.
- Lastly, Mike McCoy is still pretty raw and may only see the field very sparingly until he has a better grasp on the playbook, but when he does, watch out.
