A lot of positives in this game - more than if we'd beat ASU: OL=better | CB=much better | Thompson=better | DL=better | Vaughn is the real deal

The competition's talent improved dramatically and our play has improved almost as much as the competition did. If we'd played this well against Arky St., we'd have won by 3 or 4 scores.

Thompson isn't missing sure TD passes - those misses are really demoralizing to a team. That doesn't mean he won't play down to the competition again - he has shown that tendency, but it does tell us we have a QB who will give us a chance to win big games. He also had some really gutsy hard runs.

The OL has a host of crappy penalties and a bunch of missed blocks, but as a whole, they are significantly improved against much better defenders. They showed the ability to push OU back on obvious short yardage situations.

Vaughn has shown that he is clearly our best back and a matchup nightmare at the slot against a safety or LB. Seriously, Vaughn needs to be the #1 option anytime he is covered by a LB or safety - Lockett was the last matchup problem we had, although he just couldn't be covered by anyone... Yes, I am saying that Vaughn in the slot is harder to cover than Pringle was at WR1.

There is a lot left to improve, but we are competing and we aren't intimidated by a very talented OU offense. We didn't get down after a slow start.

This team can, but probably won't, win every game left on the schedule.
