A year from now, this conversation "could" matter, but I would take Jank over Brad.

I would not be against Brad Underwood, but I would take Tim Jankovich over Underwood.

At the D-1 level, Underwood has coached under Frank Martin.
And 10 years under Jim Kerwin at Western Illinois (Kerwin was 135 & 174 at Western Illinois before resigning... I believe it was Kerwin's only D-1 coaching job).

Jankovich has coached under Larry Brown, Bill Self, Eddie Sutton, Jack Hartman, Lon Kruger, Boyd Grant, Gene Iba and Kevin Stallings.

I know that some K-State fans don't like the fact that Jankovich coached under Self... but I'm not so sure that's a bad thing...ha. Bottom line, Tim is a K-Stater.

Jankovich played for three years under Jack Hartman.
Brad played for two years under Jack Hartman.

Brad has done a very good job as a head coach at Stephen F Austin, but in all due respect, SFAU plays in a rummy league. One of the worst leagues (talent wise in D-1). SFA loss to Tulane in the non-con.
And it's not like Brad built SFAU into a power, they were already the class of the league when he took over.
Hopefully Brad & SFA will win their conference tourney or SFA will be NIT bound (no chance of an at large bid from the Southland).

Jankovich had medicore success at best in his first head coach job (about 500 @ North Texas).
In his second job as a head coach, he had much better success at Illinois State (he had 1 bad year, but averaged 23 wins in his other 5 seasons).. Jankovich left Illinois State to take a big pay raise and become the associate head coach under Larry Brown at SMU (last season at Illinois State = 21-14 season -- NIT bid).

Again, I'm not against Brad Underwood, in fact, I was pulling for Brad to get the job when Frank left, but if I had a choice, I would have to go with Jankovich because of the great coaches that he has worked under.

But again, all this talk about a new coach is at least one year premature. Weber is going to be back next season and if the CATS finish in the top half of the big 12 next season, Weber will be back the following year as well.

Get-Over-It... Weber is not going to be fired after this season.
I'm not saying I would be upset if Weber was fired (ha), but it's not going to happen in 2016.

GO STATE !
