When K-State suffered a heart breaking loss in Larryville, the CATS were able to bounce back and play a very good game at home against OU. I was quite impressed by K-State's ability to shake off a tough loss and play so well against OU.
Baylor also suffered a heart breaking loss in Larryville today. Baylor didn't receive a phantom technical foul, but it sure looked like ku's big man jumped into the Baylor guard when the Bears had a 1 point lead with just over a minute to play (not the new rule - where your body & arms can go straight up)... it was a tough no call.
Here's the problem that I have with the "no call" ... had that been Graham getting rejected like that there is absolutely ZERO doubt, the ref blows the whistle... heck, the ref might have called a technical foul on the opposing big man and kicked him out of the game..
Will Baylor be able to bounce back and play a good game against K-State?
There are a couple of differences. 1) K-State played OU on Tuesday versus Monday.
So K-State had an extra day to shake off the tough loss.
2) K-State's game with ku started at 11:00 AM followed by a 90 minute bus ride back to Manhattan.
Baylor had a 5:00 PM start time and had to get on a plane to fly back to Waco (not a long flight, but still a pain in the arse). Making Monday and even quicker turnaround.
Perhaps Baylor will be able to bounce back with no issues and play at a high level against K-State, but then again, there could be some residual residue from a heat breakikng loss (& fatigue). I'm hoping for the latter.
Then again, sitting at 2 & 5 in the conference, Baylor is going to be desparate for a win.
Gosh for the love of all that is good, I hope Mawien is ready to play consistently at higher level (you gotta believe that he gained a ton of confidence today). The CATS need Mawien to play better for the team to continue to improve.
