Age Irrelevant

Older guys like me (72, graduated in '70) cringe when a well-meaning--but ill-informed--poster surfaces age as a pivotal negative factor when evaluating our nationally-honored head coach; or, in discussing potential replacements when Coach Synder--on his own--finally decides to retire. (Which I hope is not in my life time.)

Feeling and acting old in one's 70's might work for some, but most of my salty, irreverent contemporaries reject the sedentary existence for a truly active life style. We run, bike, hike, ski and above all, we stay positive and energetic.. (But just one exceptional cigar a week.)

And goodness knows the classy ladies who show up at my place--and also follow me to K-State bowl games ("We're going where, and to see what?")--don't have any complaints about matters of the throbbing heart as they certainly keep coming back to my lake home. Perhaps they also come over for the fine red wine and rare single malt collection. Either way, they never talk about age as it really doesn't matter--to them, or to me.

So, please forego the (disrespectful) hang-ups about this age stuff. It don't matter, believe me.. So now, look forward to your 70's!! It's a great ride...
