Won NCAA indoor high jump yesterday.
She is astounding. She'll win the heptathalon in Rio if her inexperience doesn't trip her up - she is 21 and has only competed in two Heps (in last years ncaa outdoor, she was way ahead of Jackie Joyner Kersee's world record pace after day one, fell off on day two but still won easily) and now 2 Pentathalons.
In the NCAA Indoor pentathalon (ok, how the hell do you spell it???) she hit the last hurdle and scored essentially no points (as big 12 champion, this is one of her best events). She then proceeded to to go 1.98 meters in the High Jump, US indoor record, Ncaa indoor record, tied for best in the world this year. She jumped at 2.01 (world record but missed).
She then won the shot and did well in the 4th event, pulling herself into 3rd place even with the no score. She dropped out of the 800 early (some twinge or something.)
This was Friday.
Saturday she wins the high jump with 1.87 meters.
She'll compete for Barbados at Rio - one to watch if you like track.
