I was extremely bored during a long drive and was listening to a random radio broadcast about some young people who tragically lost their lives in one of the recent wildfires (these happened to be in West Texas).

I had no idea the founder of the ranch, O.M. Franklin, (bio linked here) had KSU connections until a random caller who is a descendent of Mr. Franklin called in and mentioned another descendent of his (possibly a granddaughter) who attended KSU as well.
I may have omitted or mixed up some of the details but since I found this story fascinating I felt like sharing it with everyone.
