For me this is a game I watch with a whole different attitude. I don't care particularly who wins or if there are any outstanding plays but I know everyone of these young people both on the field and in the stands has agreed to lay down their life for you and I.
I was sitting in my seats at BSFS for the Texas game several years ago and the two men beside me were not the usual ticket holders. I did notice they were particularly well mannered and well spoken. I asked them if they were relatives of the season ticket holders and they replied no but they had been given the tickets for what was one of the bigger games of the year. Turns out they were both West Point graduates with one having been the punter for Army and they were leaving in a week for Afghanistan. I thanked them for their service and the response I got still moves me to tears. One responded immediately and with obvious sincerity, "Sir it is a honor to defend America". Here were two men about to risk their lives for me but instead of being all about themselves they were about all of us.
These are truly America's finest that will be on the field and in the stands today and I hope we all watch with that appreciation.
