can never be met as each time he reaches something a new standard is created
Hey, I have my frustrations with Bruce Weber, I had frustrations with Frank Martin as well. If a coach wants to have a 'Play Hard chart' for internal use to motivate his team, great, but don't show up to a post game press conference after a tough loss touting it! Toughness at crunch time to close out games has been particularly frustrating this season yet here they are with 21 wins and in the NCAA tourney. Clear with all these evolving 'standards' to measure 'success' that for many does not matter, he needs to go. Pretty sad to see
- can't win on the road in the Big 12 was the storyline, went 4-5 this season with wins at then #2 in the country Baylor, put up 96 points at NCAA tourney participant Oklahoma State coached by favored son Brad Underwood. Played the best game I can remember for a K-State team in Lawrence this century, had a wide open 3 to likely win that did not go down before the non-call on the blatant travel
- Had to make the NCAA tourney in order to keep his job
- Once the Cats made the NCAA tourney as 11 seed in the 'First Four' round, that did not count as it was not part of the "real" tournament
- Now that Cats hang 95 points on ACC member Wake Forest to get to the "real" field of 64 a new 'standard' has been established today that in order to keep his job Weber must have a "deep run" in the tourney to keep his job. Really? Wow? Final Four or bust? Beating Cincy not enough?
