- thoughts on the defense have to deflate a bit... i thought they would handle all but possibly the Boykin and Russel style qbs who can pick you apart and get things done.. I thought everybody else would just get chewed up in the meat grinder.... so to watch driskel do what he did was disappointing... I don't think it's PANIC time or anything... but it does hurt the confidence going into big12 play.... you now have to wonder if the wvu/ttu/osu level qbs can/will be able to do the same?
- lack of turnovers by the defense... i believe they were responible for 1 yesterday... but no INTs through 3 games? some of it is luck, but K-State is currently tied with ku in turnovers forced... with ku playing 1 less game (tied for 8th overall... ou has forced 1 less)
- Lee is a complete stud... like... a potential "star"
- willis showed up for a while! still inconsistent, but when that dude goes full out, he's a beast
- the "total" stats against the defense are overinflated.. they are not as bad as 314 driskel passing yards looks like
- still a top 30 defense
- the offense..... is going to hold this team back... not all is on the players however... the coaching is simply awful... i think the coaching staff is probably in bigger trouble with LHCBS today
- o-line --- pass blocking was much improved... run blocking is still a major problem... the pass blocking may be more important going forward however.. especially if the staff wants to keep doing 7 step deep drops.. I can't imagine that's a pathway to success in big12 play but to be fair, i'm not sure i have another suggestion.
- more heath and davis... and Cook looked good.... less everybody else
- Silmon... how the hell is jones still getting the 1st start... It was obvious, within 2 runs for each at the spring game, that the talent levels were not even close to a very basic talent scout like me... so how, with the benefit of practice, can this still be a mystery to the staff? it's not because jones is a workout warrior and silmon isnt... or they would be much closer talent wise....
