STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING - ARM, Clutts, others...
Wade said that he planned to arrive in Manhattan shortly before summer school begins on June 4. He's eager to get into the weight room with Jimmy Price, the Wildcats' strength and conditioning coach.
"Oh, I'm excited. I'm really excited," Wade said. "The weight coach is awesome. He's going to push me and I like being pushed. I think it'll help me tons -- a ton. I'm just going to work hard. That's all I can tell anyone is that I'm going to work hard and hopefully the rest will fall into place."
LEADERSHIP AND WORKING HARD - beastmode
"Dean obviously does things the right way," Kinnamon said. "His personality and how he does things is going to be a great thing for Kansas State and the community when he's up here. He's a high-character kid and he's a hard worker. You know, when your best player is one of your hardest workers that kind of breeds success with your team. That's what we've had with him the last four years."
WADE'S SIZE - Clutts, others...
Although Rivals.com listed Wade at 6-foot-8 and 215 pounds prior to this season, Wade said that he's grown to 6-foot-9 and 220 pounds. Wade's frame seems somewhat akin at this stage to former K-State player Josh Reid, the 6-foot-6, 210-pound forward that led Brewster High School to the Kansas Class 1A state championship and was named Kansas Mr. Basketball as a senior 20 years ago.
Thoughts? Kid says the right things and so do his coaches. He is white, so I'll compare him to Collin Klein. Wouldn't it be nice if he had a Kleinesque impact by the time he is done?
