After the disgusting display by white supremacists yesterday, you would expect this to be a softball for a President - go out, condemn the hate and violence and talk about how white supremacy does not represent this country, and so on. But of course our President is not like most presidents. Instead, he refused to pointedly condemn a hate group and in the process uttered other unpresidential comments about how he's not to blame and why aren't people talking about how good of a President he is.
This would piss me off, but racism and bigotry were part of his campaign - it's who he is. So of course he's not going to condemn what happened in Charlottesville because that view is partially what got him elected and frankly, I think is a view he's not totally opposed to.
