the chance of K-State pulling a stunning upset is much greater given Baylor will be starting a true freshman QB in a hostile environment on a Thursday night at BSFS.
As for K-State, if Prewitt, McDaniel, & Barnett are available, the chances for an upset is much greater as well.
If Barnett did not suffer a fracture to the collarbone, he should be ready to go next week (it will have been nearly 8 weeks). A deep bone bruise can be very painful, but 8 weeks should be adequate time to recover.
Shelley is improving every week and is going to be a stud.
Newlan has played more, but he needs to learn to take better angles in run support.
Starks & Burns have the capability of playing solid.
Cre Moore ??
Hopefully the D-line will utilize the bye week to improve their ability to rush the QB (maybe a new stunt or two). And I would like to think that the D-line will benefit from some extra rest.
On Tuesday, Snyder said that Alex Delton would practice on a limited basis. There's a reasonable chance a week from now, the coaches & trainers will give Alex the green light (???).
Hubener will likely start, but if Joe is ineffective, I expect to see Delton in relief (or not).
Baylor has faced two decent teams this year (TT and WV) ... played both at home. K-State will be Baylor's first real road test (well, unless you're counting Kansas and SMU...ha). Again, not an ideal situation for a freshman QB to start his first game.
Baylor's defense is average.
WEATHER: I was hoping for bad weather, but the extended forecast looks good (of course the forecast could change). Still, game time temps will likely be in the upper 50s and Baylor has played in much warmer conditions this season.
One note about Baylor's new QB...he was listed as a dual threat QB out of high school... the CATS will need to be aware of his ability to run when he gets happy feet.
K-State needs to get some payback on Baylor !
The CATS are hungry !
GO STATE !!
