Where was Dante Williams? Someone said Wade got hurt? GPC Staff, or did anyone on here attend first half?
Some things I saw:
Barry Brown is bigger, but still can't finish at the rim. Carlbe Irvin looks like a different player, hitting jumpers, rebounding, finishing at the rim....etc. Iwundu hit several threes and looked fluid taking them. Walkon kid #12 has best looking jump shot on team, hit 3 threes when I was there....also defended and has some quicks. Maurice was disapponting....his jump shot is a shot put, and muffed a free throw. James Love had a nice hook, but literally cannot shoot a jump shot yet....
GRIPES...not sure how a D1 player like Love can't shoot....like his size, but GD BRUCE, teach the kid how to shoot. Why did we wait 4 years to teach Wes how to shoot? This is the kind of stuff that baffles me. Maurice needs same coaching.
OVERALL...I like our size, we finally look like a POWER 5 team...we're still not quick enough to get shots off inside the 3 point line against good competition....hoping our size will take some pressure off the guards with rebounding and our backs.
PREDICTION....this is the 3rd time I've seen these guys practice....also watched some of the European video. No dominant scorer, but more depth, like us better with Diara for athletic guard depth....19 wins, NIT.....Bruce gets another year.
