Looking at some of the really poor teams in MLB, I started wondering which ones were close/closest to starting trying to win and which ones are the furthest away. There are some really, really bad teams.
(in order of worst records with run differential)
1. Baltimore 21-45 -122
2. Kansas City 21-45 -71
3. Toronto 23-43 -84
4. Miami 23-42 -74 (yes, Miami would be 2.5 games ahead of Royals in standings)
5. Detroit 24-39 -112
6. San Francisco 27-38 -85
7. Seattle 28-42 -67
It's interesting to me that 4/5 and 5/7 of the worst teams are in AL. The powers that be are going to continue to pillage those teams record wise.

They immediately put BWJ as a 26-50 prospect in the top 100 and by far KC's best prospect. Rutschman got put in the top 25 and gives the Orioles 4 top 100 prospects. Detroit has two top 25 prospects and draftee Riley Greene also went right into the top 100. The Mariners have 5 top 100 prospects include 2 top 50 guys. They have exploded up the farm system rankings in just one year. Toronto has 5 top 100 guys including 2 top 25 guys but Cavan Biggio will graduate from that list shortly.
Just as an aside, the Padres and Braves are stupid stacked. The Padres have top 100 players at their first 11 spots and that doesn't include Paddock and Mejia who have graduated from the list. Tatis and Naylor are going to graduate from the list soon. The Braves have 7 top 100 players and that doesn't include Soroka and Touissant who have both graduated.
