The number of undefeated teams is going to shrink considerably after this weekend.

Outrageous College Football Predictions for Week 10
1.Hy2LQaukh5.gif
Now that the first College Football Playoff rankings have been released, we have a definitive list of contenders to keep our eyes on. The only problem is, that list is going to look a lot different next weekend, thanks to the pending outrageousness that is going to take place in Week 10.

Look for six currently undefeated teams to add a loss to their record. Five of those losses are included in this week's "Outrageous College Football Predictions."

Kansas State upsets Baylor

The Wildcats had TCU on the ropes a couple of weeks ago in Manhattan. After a recent rough patch, Bill Snyder's bunch had a week off to regroup and put in extra time preparing for this Baylor attack. The Kansas State program — from the coaches, players and right down to the fans — have never had any issue with playing the role of "spoiler." Look for the Wildcats to spoil Baylor's season on Thursday.

Navy ruins Memphis' perfect season

If you are going to beat Navy, you need to be focused only on the task at hand. Any focus you don't have better be made up by elite athletes who can impose their will. Memphis is getting a lot of love that it isn't used to getting. That's going to be a distraction heading into this game, and they don't have a whole lot of elite-level athletes who can offset that distraction. Look for the Midshipmen to control this game wire-to-wire.

Florida State beats Clemson again

Aside from the win over Miami, Clemson really hasn't looked like world-beaters in any of its wins. The Tigers too are getting more love than they are used to. We all keep waiting for the Tigers to start "Clemsoning." Well, with Florida State getting both Dalvin Cook and Everett Golson back healthy this week, this will be the game that we've all come to expect from the Tigers at this point in the season. Additionally, Clemson hasn't defeated Florida State since 2011.

Indiana knocks off Iowa

Speaking of waiting for teams to lose, it's almost as if the talking heads of college football are sitting around nervously biting their nails, waiting for the Hawkeyes to lose to they can stop wasting their time doing research on them. Well, this week they'll get their wish. Iowa hasn't faced an offense like Indiana's this season. As good as the Hawkeye defense has been, it's not going to completely shut down the Hoosiers. This is going to be a relatively high-scoring shootout — something I don't believe Iowa is built to win.

Nebraska stuns Michigan State
1.Hy2LQaukh5.gif

Nothing has gone right for Nebraska this season. The narrative is that the players are soft to begin with and are not buying in to a new coach who hasn't given them a reason to do so. That's the narrative. The reality is a talented locker room full of Cornhuskers who are tired of losing, coached by a guy who — despite all of us nit-picking his every move — does know what he's doing. Husker Nation knows how important this game is. Look for Memorial Stadium to be as loud as it's ever been at kickoff, as one of the nation's most passionate and vocal fan bases does everything in its power to impact what happens on the field. Incidentally, I happen to think Nebraska matches up well on both sides of the ball with the Spartans. It will all result in the first big win of the Mike Riley era.
