What I'm about to say I'm not 100% convinced in (especially with regards to ku) but would like to start the conversation.

The Big 12 NEEDS these schools to win their OOC games. They can go win less during conference play for all I care, but losing to FCS and teams at the bottom or or outside the Power 5 is not a good look. The TV contracts that are up in a few years will not be easy to negotiate to begin with, and even harder if we have a third of the league in the gutter. As @KSUftw told me, every league has a whooping horse (ku has been ours) but it now looks like we have 3, and possibly 4 if you throw in Tech or Iowa State.
