was a hard fought game, but Texas knocked down some big shots to seal the deal late.
K-State had both Texas & Baylor on the ropes this season (on the road), but the CATS couldn't close the deal at the end of the game (well, in two overtimes against Baylor).
Texas & Baylor have better talent than K-State and it's not very close. That is one thing I can say about this year's CATS, they will compete ... scratch and claw.
Yes, K-State needs to recruit better. Had Dante Williams and/ or Isaiah Maurice been available all season, perhaps they would have made a difference in some of K-State's close losses (maybe, maybe not).
Here's hoping that the CATS will be able to close the deal on some close games in the second half of the Big 12 season, unfortunately I don't expect a turnaround to begin in Larryville on Wednesday night ...ha.
Outside of three games, K-State has been very competitive.
The CATS stunk it up @ WV, @ OU, & vs ISU.
Primarily due to poor shooting, not because of a lack of effort. I'm not saying that the opposing defense didn't have something to do with K-State's poor shooting, but I watched K-State get good looks in those games, but were not able to knock them down (missing bunnies under the basket was the most frustrating).
@ OU >> K-State shot 38% from the field (31% from the 3 point line -- 8 of 26), OU shot 57% from the field (58% from the 3 point line). That's some hot shooting.
vs ISU >> K-State shot 38% from the field (19% from the 3 pt line); Iowa State shot 51% from the field (38% from the 3 point line).
@ WV >> K-State shot 35% from the field (6% from the 3 pt line -- 1 of 18); WV shot 43% from the field (29% from the 3 pt line). And yes, K-State had 19 TOs, but WV had 18, so not a huge disparity in turnovers (rebound were close). Both teams didn't play particularly well, but K-State's shooting was just horrendous.
GO STATE !
