To avoid a blow-out like the OU game, the CATS will obviously need to generate first downs and keep Baylor's offense off the field. We all know that K-State must have a good running game to enjoy a good offensive performance.
The Big Problem = in order to keep Baylor from placing 8 in the box and run blitzing on almost every down (see OU game), K-State / Hubener must have some success passing the ball.
Not that Phil Bennett is known for an aggressive defense (cough cough ... sarcasm alert).
K-State's problems are not all Joe's fault... and as I have posted before, Joe is giving it his all, it's not like he doesn't care and isn't trying.
But again, to kick start the run game, K-State's QB must be able to successfully pass the ball.
If you can't pass the ball effectively, Baylor's defense will release the hounds so to speak.
And if K-State's offense goes 3 & out ... 3 & out ... 3 & out .... well, the flood gates for Baylor's offense will open wide. And the blow-out will be on.
I have my fingers crossed that Joe will regain some confidence and surprise all of us with a solid performance.
The CATS need a loud and proud BSFS.
GO CATS !
