I said before the game that the key to winning at TCU was to injure Duggan. Now to be fair I had been drinking a little, but what I was saying wasn't really that far off from my true feelings. I knew that to beat TCU we had to hit Duggan hard and often and intimidate him to the point that if he took off running, he knew that he was going to pick himself up off the ground with a new ache to worry about.
We did this successfully without being dirty about it (not that I cared about the distinction). Early in the game and towards the end of the half you could see the change in his demeanor and he was getting his ass rocked every time he decided to run or on scrambles. This led to hurried throws and delayed scrambles, until he ultimately was replaced and taken out for a bit. I love this new attitude our defense has of hitting players and leaving a lasting impression. It's about time we started setting the tone as a defense.
