In a recent thread about whether the basketball team has met expectations, I posed the question as to what other programs have come as far as K-State since the lowest point following the 2014-15 season.*
Curiously, I don't believe that a single example was offered up.
Posters did talk about how Weber was turning around a program that Weber himself had burned down or that programs should get turned around in one year (or three max), or that the team will be bad again when Wade and Brown are gone, etc. But no one provided examples of better turnarounds.
My bet is that there are comparable, or better, examples. And one of the points I tried making was that any such examples would NOT get described (at least fairly) as having only "met minimal expectations" -- which is how some of our posters rate (or worse) our team.
So, again, honest question: over the same time span, what are the turnarounds to which K-State's should be compared? What other coaches have done a similar or better job, all things considered?
* Short recap: Team was down to only three returning scholarship players (one starter, two reserves), plus an injured reserve whose outlook was cloudy after having missed the entire past season.
