* Baylor’s Robert Griffin III, who went second overall to the Redskins in 2012; - elected to Pro Bowl as a Rookie but injured knee. 2013 & 2014 due to injuries did not have good years. 2015 cut. 2016 put on injured reserve then cut.
* Texas A&M’s Ryan Tannehill, eight overall to the Dolphins in 2012; - set franchise rookie records for passing yards, attempts, and completions. Has done pretty well for past 5 seasons with Miami.
* OSU’s Brandon Weeden, who went 22nd overall to the Browns in 2012; - Weeden threw for a Browns rookie-record 3,385 yards first season. 2013 injured thumb and had a poor season and traded. 2014 & 2015 did well as a back-up for Dallas but was cut. 2015 -2017 is 3rd string back-up for Houston.
* Missouri’s Blaine Gabbert, who went 10th to the Jaguars in 2011; - Gabbert struggled in his rookie season with a toe injury. He was sacked 40 times, third most by any quarterback in the league. He also fumbled 14 times, most in the league by a quarterback. His 50.8% completion percentage was second-worst in the league for passers with more than 200 attempts (ahead of only Tim Tebow's 46.5%). His 5.4 yards per attempt was last in the league among qualifying passers, as was his 65.4 passer rating. 2012 put on injured reserve. 2013 injured and traded. 2014 played very little as a back-up. 2015 Started and Gabbert finished the 2015 season with 2,031 passing yards with 10 touchdowns and 7 interceptions for an 86.2 passer rating. In 8 games as a starter, he had a 3–5 record. 2016 had a poor 1-4 start and was benched.
* OU’s Sam Bradford, who went first overall to the Rams in 2010; - largest contract ever for an NFL rookie. Bradford became just the third rookie quarterback to start all 16 regular season games and pass over 3000 passing yards, joining Peyton Manning and Matt Ryan. 2011 A high ankle sprain bothered Bradford for the majority of the year and the Rams finished 2–14. 2012 Bradford finished the season with career best numbers: 3,702 passing yards, 21 touchdowns compared to 13 interceptions and an 82.6 passer rating to go along with 59.5 completion percentage. 2013 tore ACL and was out for season after promising start. 2014 tore same ACL and was out. 2015 traded Bradford would go 7-7 as a starter and his play began to improve. 2016 traded Then completed 395 of 552 passes for 3,877 yards and 20 touchdowns with 5 interceptions. His 71.6 completion percentage set a single season NFL record, passing Drew Brees's 2011 mark of 71.2. Bradford's 395 completions set a franchise record for completions in a season.
* Kansas State’s Josh Freeman, who went 17th to the Buccaneers in 2009; Played little as a back-up. Freeman became the youngest quarterback in Bucs history to start and win his first game. 2010 Starter, won several player of the week. He led the team to a winning record of 10–6, barely missing the playoffs. He was also named as an alternate for the 2011 Pro Bowl. 2011 went 4-11 in a poor season. 2012 improved. 2013 poor performance and was cut. 2014-2015 signed then released each preseason. December 2015 signed with Colts and started in one game then was cut.
* Texas’ Vince Young to the Titans in 2006. Young held the then NFL record for rushing yards by a rookie quarterback with 552, breaking the old record of 408 yards set by Bobby Douglass in 1969. He won the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors at the conclusion of the 2006 NFL campaign, becoming only the third quarterback to win the award. Named to Pro Bowl. 2007 Young finished with 2,459 passing yards with 9 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. Additionally, Young would finish with 395 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. 2008 Young injured his knee and became a back-up rest of season. 2009 Young won Sporting News Comeback Player of the Year and played in Pro Bowl. 2010 cut because of arguments with coach (mental issues). 2011 poor season and cut. 2012-2014 signed and released in preseason each year. 2017 playing in Canada.
