well, I guess I should say the first full week of college football, since there are a handful of games on Saturday, August 26.

Okie State kicks off the Big 12 season with a home game against Tulsa on Thursday, August 31.
Tulsa had a good team in 2016, but their senior QB and a large number of starters have graduated.
Should not be a good game. Well, if you're an Okie State fan, it will be a good game..ha.

Maryland at Texas.... the Longhorns should be able to pull out a victory at home. Maryland was not very good last season (then again, the Terps didn't lose to ku...ha). I would not be shocked if Maryland won, but I would be surprised.

Liberty at Baylor ... cough

SEMO at ku .... I gotta believe that ku will win this game.

Central Arkansas at K-State ... vanilla ice cream time

Jackson State at TCU ... cough

UTEP at OU ... cough

Eastern Washington @ Texas Tech...this could be a competitive game.
Eastern Washington is better than more than a few FBS schools. Eastern Washington returns a QB that threw for over 5,000 yards and 48 TDs. The last time that I checked, Tech didn't have much of a defense. Eastern Washington knocked off Washington State to begin last season.

Northern Iowa at Iowa State ... Clones should win, but Northern Iowa is usually competitive.

The only game that "should be" highly competitive in Week 1:
Sunday, Sept 3: West Virginia at Va Tech (FedEx Field)
For the Big 12, I hope WV can get it done.
Va Tech brings back a good QB - 2016 = passed fo 3,500 yards - 29 TD passes, plus 850 yards rushing (12 rushing TDs).

GO STATE !
