I've scanned the dark web, and the last time I could find HCBS publicly supporting Sean as HC was in 2015. He did not comment anything about Sean after the McMurphy story broke either.
We know Snyder hated Currie, and undoubtedly JC was the one who cooked up the JL arrangement.
Snyder was never going to go along with anything Currie hatched. Then Currie left. Snyder was treated for cancer. We had a less than forecasted season, but a good finish. And JL still has the clause in his contract. Sean has never voiced a desire publicly to follow his Dad.
I think JL is one of the few people BS trusts to keep Sean around, in Manhattan, and a figure in the program. I also see SS and JL working well together. Maybe the absence of Currie and the Big C has changed many things in Bill's mind and this transition just might occur successfully.
I also think there will never be a search, because JL is the one guy that gets Bill mostly what he wants. I've said before, I think the Sean thing was always a ploy against Currie. Not necessary now.
