About this Impeachment nonsense. If the House manages to get through this sham with Articles of Impeachment to send to the Senate, depending on the timing, I believe the Senate will hold a trial. McConnell is saying he won't even bring it to the Senate floor but I think that's a subterfuge and Here's why:
1. GOP Senators have ample time to build a super strong defense against a guilty verdict. Only way it doesn't go to trial is if they don't have the votes. An impossibility at this point.
2. If it even makes it out of the House, the Dems will have a very weak case.
3. Most of the accusers have already been caught lying about something so they have lost credibility as witnesses.
3. Why refuse to hold a trial that you are confident you can win? McConnell is just keeping his powder dry.
4. A trial brings EVERYTHING to light (not just leaks) and gives GOP the chance to exonerate Trump and not let the public continue to wonder "what if..."?
5. A not guilty verdict will catapult Trump easily into re-election whereas no trial leaves the Dems with a big shovel to feed the public more BS.
Anyone else? And please, keep the usual schoolyard antics to a minimum. Tough ask, I know....
