I enjoy covering Bruce Weber. He's a good quote and sometimes can be almost too honest with information. There are also times you get some absolutely random comparisons and sayings. It's a good balance in regards to covering his basketball team. However, nothing was maybe more random than Weber using fictional characters to describe his team.
"We’ve got some Tiggers. Eeyores are no fun to coach or be friends with. We’ve got guys happy and bouncing around, flying around, enjoying it. Now, can they keep that same energy and same excitement when things get a little tougher here? We’ll see."
Really, a Winnie The Pooh reference??
"That’s one I like because it’s so extreme. I always ask them, ‘do you want to hang around with Eeyore or do you want to hang around with Tigger?’ I don’t know if you can deal with Tigger all of the time, but you sure don’t want to hang around with Eeyore, some negative, grumpy guy. You want excitement and happy. That’s the fun of coaching when guys come in and they’re happy and they’re excited and they want to practice and want to get better."
That's all, folks. I just wanted to share the randomness.
