and this could be 2 games & win the Big 12 Tournament or lose to WV & win 2 games in the Dance or beat WV & win 1 game in the NCAA Tournament......doesn't matter.
My offer would be this.....
1. 2 year extension IF he drops the 2.5 million buyout
2. If he agrees to drop the buyout I would let him keep his $500,000 retention in the contract
3. Keep his pay scale acceleration the same....I believe it's a $100,000 raise each year
4. Clearly define the level of expectations for next season....namely NCAA Tournament wins.
Basically I would put his feet to the fire and see if he believes in his own success.....if he does, there should be no need for a buyout. All with the tone that we are considering on making a change.
If he wins zero or 1 more game. I fire him now.
