Thanks to the solid work of @ksu_FAN and a wise suggestion from @MelsTavern, this post will house an updated look at the teams K-State appears to be competing with both for seeding and position in the NCAA Tournament.

As results come in, we'll update this original post with number numbers. Discussion through the thread is encouraged and welcome (as are notifications of results), but you should be able to return to the top to see the latest updates.

Also, to try and get our best guess at how many spots are available in the 68-team field, let's try and breakdown how many spots are claimed.

One-bid leagues
  1. America East
  2. Atlantic Sun
  3. Big Sky
  4. Big South
  5. Big West
  6. CAA
  7. Horizon
  8. Ivy
  9. MAAC
  10. MAC
  11. MEAC
  12. MVC
  13. Northeast
  14. OVC
  15. Patriot
  16. Southern
  17. Southland
  18. SWAC
  19. Summit
  20. Sun Belt
  21. WAC
That, of course, picks up 21 spots. Now, let's add to that teams that look to be "locks" to get in. The basis of this was pulled from the officially NCAA website.

American (3): Cincinnati, Wichita State, Houston
A-10 (1): Rhode Island
ACC (8): Virginia, Duke, North Carolina, Clemson, Miami, Florida State, N.C. State, Virginia Tech
Big 12 (5): Kansas, Texas Tech, West Virginia, Oklahoma, TCU
Big East (5): Xavier, Villanova, Butler, Seaton Hall, Creighton
Big Ten (4): Michigan State, Purdue, Ohio State, Michigan
C-USA (0): None, but could be a potential two-bid league if MTSU doesn't win tournament
MWC (1): Nevada
Pac 12 (2): Arizona, Arizona State
SEC (6): Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Florida, Arkansas
WCC (1): Gonzaga

If accurate, that locks up another 37 spots (counting at least one from C-USA). That brings the total of spots locked up to 58.

Assuming no bids are "stolen," that leaves 10 spots for the following teams. The teams are ordered by their current standing on bracketmatrix.com.
