I debated whether to post about my business on here for some time, and finally decided why not. Hope you will give this a quick read.
I worked for the gov't for 10+ yrs until it just got to the point I felt I no longer could. I also wanted out of my cubicle, and to do something on my own. I had looked and pondered for a couple years. I ended up buying a franchise a year ago from an up and coming company called Bloomin' Blinds. Been told I'm crazy or have some big stones, it's probably a bit of both. Was tough leaving great benefits and very good guaranteed pay, but just felt I had to give owning my own business a shot.
I do not have a store front, as that is the lazy man's way of selling these products. I have a mobile service where I bring the samples to you for a free in home consultation. You get to see the products you are interested where they will go, beside your trim or paint , and get a better idea how it will look in your home. I quote against Budget Blinds a lot and when customers tell me that my estimate was 30-40% less, I am no longer shocked. I have found they have very high costs in national ad fees and such, which make them have to make a lot just to cover those expenses.
One of the things that really attracted me to Bloomin' was the fact that we don't just sell and install new products. We also do on site repairs of all this stuff. I have had many call me and say the alternative is Shammerhorn in Wichita. But they generally go with me because I can be out in a day or 2 generally and carry parts to fix most issues. With them, you take the shade or blind down, take it to them and wait 2-3 weeks. Not being without your window covering for that period is a big advantage of using us. Most companies can only offer you a new one. We allow you to spend a fraction and make your 10 year old blind work like new. Say you have 4 blinds in a room you bought 10 yrs ago. 2 of them won't tilt anymore. Buying new ones would likely have shiny brand new blinds that stand out by your 10 yr old blinds that are still fine.
We will soon be changing from Bloomin' Blinds of Wichita to Bloomin' Blinds of Central KS, because we do a lot of business from Salina, Derby, Goddard, Hutchinson, Cheney, McPherson and basically all over Central KS as well as Wichita.
If I can be of any help to you, or you know anyone that may be in need of my services, I would appreciate your business or referral very much!
Check us out, Have pictures of myself, Wife and 3 sons on the website.
