I wish there was a way I know about to show tables in here. I went through the condensed game and charted the defensive snaps with a Missed or Made tackle, pursuit angle notes, pressures and +/N/- for coverage plays. I'm just a knucklehead who likes football so this is definitely not good football analysis

Takeaways: Hubert didn't have his name called in the 1st half then literally took over in the 4th Quarter. I have everybody who played meaningful snaps down for missing a tackle except for Durham and Mittie. It was a group effort. Tackling was markedly better in the 2nd half and almost flawless in the fourth quarter. There is hope. I wonder if it takes a half to re-adjust to Big 12 speed/power after we play our scout team for two weeks.

Here's an alphabetical player breakdown
  • Name, # tackles missed, # tackles made, # good coverage, # neutral coverage, # bad coverage, pressure notes
  • Ball 2 missed 3 made
  • Davies 1 missed 1 made
  • Dishon 1 missed 1 made (terrible angle on a stunt when he gave up outside leverage giving Duggan a huge lane for a big scramble. overall a quiet day for the senior)
  • Durham 0 missed 4 made 2 good coverage plays (imo he played a helluva game)
  • Gallon 1 missed
  • Goolsby 2 missed 2 made 1 neutral coverage
  • Green 2 missed (1 due to awful angle on Duggan scramble) 5 made (mostly solid)
  • Hubert 4 missed (Q1-Q3 he was whiffing in the backfield) 3 made then dominated Q4 with sack, 2 pressures and 2 teeth rattling hits on Duggan on zone read gives (overall inconsistent for Hubert, he could have been great as he was in position for 4-5 TFLs)
  • Jones 4 missed (including the sports center play) 11 made (it's like he has to adjust to game speed every week)
  • McGee 0 missed 3 made 1 good coverage 1 negative coverage (missed INT due to passivity)
  • McPherson 1 good coverage (left game very early)
  • Mittie 0 missed 2 made
  • Neil 2 missed 1 made 1 good coverage and one awful coverage (beat deep by 5 yards, Duggan just missed the throw. should have been an explosive passing TD)
  • Parker 3 missed 3 made 2 neutral and 1 negative coverage (inconsistent game from AJ)
  • Patton 1 missed 1 made (quiet day for the senior)
  • Sullivan 3 missed 4 made (1 was a great tackle). Sullivan seemed to read slowly and gave himself harder angles as a result
  • Walker 1 missed 3 made good pressure on Delton (impactful day for Reggie)
  • Wiley 1 missed
Looking forward to hearing how far off I am compared to official game stats and PFF grades
