Looks like only four K-State commitments were in action this past weekend, kicking off their senior seasons. Here's how each faired.

TRE BRYANT
Scored 1 touchdown on a 32 yard run (running with only one shoe after a defender pulled it off at the beginning of the play). Bryant's score was part of a 37-point 1st quarter for CBC as they rolled Hickman 66-7.

Rivals area analyst Josh Helmholdt caught up with Bryant after the game for a video interview as well, discussing not only details about the win but also touching on K-State and the commitment.

DJ RENDER
In what would have been a stunning upset, North Cobb fell to top ranked, defending state champion Northside 27-24. Sounds like Render's squad actually held a 24-6 halftime lead before going cold in the second half.

I couldn't locate exact stats for Render's performance, but judging by these highlights I would imagine he faired pretty well early on.

COREY SUTTON
Playing for the best all-around team of any K-State commitment, Sutton and Mallard Creek destroyed Independence 58-6. Sutton opened the game with a 35-yard reception and nearly caught a TD, as this picture shows. Again, couldn't find specific stats but Mallard Creek's QB did toss four TD passes so the passing game was working.

This was an impressive statement from Sutton's team because both schools were ranked in the Top 5 within the area. Mallard Creek is widely considered a Top 10 team in the nation according to most prep publications.

SKYLAR THOMPSON
Was a rough start early on for Thompson and Fort Osage, as they were down 8-6 at halftime to maybe a slightly underrated Raytown South program. Couldn't locate stats for Thompson, but reading about the game, it sounds like he had to do some things in the rushing department to jumpstart the passing attack.

In the end, Fort Osage was able to pull away 27-14 with Thompson, by all accounts, having a tremendously mature game under center, showcasing a lot of leadership and dependability. One reporter even saying the game was yet another example of why Thompson is the metro's best quarterback and possibly even overall player.
