I had a conversation yesterday with a former employee who now coaches HS football as an assistant coach. Our conversation centered around the bowl game but quickly moved to recruiting when he mentioned he coached a kid that is getting big time looks as well as offers. He commented the kid and his family like the idea of playing close to home and they like K-State [ 1st to offer KU! ] but were surprised at the lack of communication since receiving an offer from KSU. Apparently they rarely call and when they do the conversation isn't very substantive Mo L is the recruiter. He used the example of the visit to Alabama and said the kid was very impressed with the knowledge they had about his play he said they had hours of video and the coordinator and position coach spent a great deal of time talking about the good aspects of his play, the not so good, and the things he could work on right away to improve his game. Since that visit he receives calls from them regularly asking questions about is he taking steps to improve, what is his strength and conditioning routine, is he taking care of his body after games and work outs, and his he maintaining solid grades now that being said they have not made an offer but are making quite an impression .Other programs like the two Okie's and UT call a lot and talk at length. Don't know if this is representative of over all KSU recruiting might not be but felt it's worth sharing.
