Good to see Hurt play well. Would be nice to have that every game. He can obviously score in the post, I wish we would get it to him there more. Hate to say it but he should have went to WSU. Marshall would have gotten more out of him.
Not sure what to say about Edwards or Wade. Two guys who have lost all confidence in themselves.
Fouls were a factor as always. Couple of times we didnt challenge a shot and still got called for a foul. If Ellis was set then so was Rohleder. Unfortunately both calls went against us. We get a technical when Edwards is being held and trying to get his arm loose to catch the pass? And Lucas is standing over Hurt talking trash on a guy on the ground and its a double technical? Ellis runs into a pick and its a foul on DJ? Whatever.
The fact that we were close is amazing playing a juco backup guard who is no offensive threat along with Edwards, Iwundu, Wade, who was obviously in awe of the moment, Budke and Rohleder. A nice effort by these guys.
Not a good KU team, lots of underachievers on that team.
I think Weber is a good coach, but dont think we will ever get out of the middle of the pack in the Big 12 with him.
He doesnt make his players mentally tough and doesnt get the most out of them. I cant help but think what Underwood could do with this group and wonder if he could recruit well enough to succeed at this level in the long run.
