So I would apologize for being late, but I won't. The KSO party called and I couldn't say no to that.
If you tell me that the Cats get beat by 20% on oboarding and go 3-14 (including 0-7 in the 2nd) from 3, I would say there is no way we win this game. Georgia set the pace early and controlled it, turning this into a 58 possession slog fest. K-State missed a lot of shots we usually seem to make, but Georgia is a long team and Fox gets them to play hard. Getting to the line at a high clip and then making 90% was huge for the Cats too.
This is one where the minutes and production are stark. Only the starters scored and 27 total bench minutes. We need Kam back in a bad way to have some sort of bench scoring threat and to give Barry a chance to sit. Mawien continues to do good things, but 1 rebound is inexcusable and he got whipped several times in the 2nd half by Georgia's physical bigs. Wade didn't have his most efficient outing, but the scoring rate and rebounding continue. And credit Barry on a day when his shot isn't falling, he defers to Wade and Diarra (3rd in usage) as well as grabbing 5 boards and limiting TOs. Diarra stepped up down the stretch and made key plays getting to the rim. Finally, the Sneed rollercoaster continues, but "shooters shoot" and I would say only 1-2 shots were forced.
