Happened to be listening to MLB Network on XM on the way to lunch and they interviewed DM. Thought I would take one for the team and listen. Quick hits:
-Disappointed in play. Feels like they are playing hard but not getting big hit. Focused on the draft. Trusts players and coaches.
-Call volume hasn't increased. Don't want to make moves until they have to. Too early to make decisions on the team. Deals come together quick if there's a good fit.
-Decisions on QO are tough given money and draft environment. If you draft well (lol), it's not always necessary.
-No trade talks with other teams at this point.
-Scouting strategy hasn't changed.
-Disappointed QO rules didn't allow for compensation when Zobrist and Cueto left.
-Trades come down to health, finances. No discussions with Glass yet about this year. Hoping to get back in it.
Most of discussion was regarding trades - very little on individual player performance. They said they were going to ask about the Soler/Davis trade, but didn't.
