That their were rumors of Hayes retirement at the end of the regular season - the timing of this announcement is very strange.
If he was going to wait this long - why not until after the Feb signing date? Why not right after the Dec date? Or right after the bowl game?
And going back to the original rumors - It was a sweep of the old guys on D if Hayes left. Any word on Mo?
I’m ok with the offensive changes. Although, it’ll be interesting to see how much rope Coach gives Andre and how the game Day configuration of field and box works out.
Back to D - can’t see us pulling anyone of quality that is already a B5 DC unless they think they have a better than 50/50 chance of moving to the big chair. Don’t see how anyone of quality at a lower school takes the job given the high probability of how “temporary “ it could be unless they think they are a difference maker and with our O, see upgrading the D into a top 40ish squad - gets us into playoff and they can more somewhere bigger off that.
