According to a recent report from Rivals' Eric Bossi at the NBPA Top 100 camp, KSU is among the final 4 schools for 6'5" 190 wing Deshawn Corprew from Hampton, VA (now attending prep school in Winston Salem, NC - same one that Brandon Bolden attended). That report is pasted below:

"Currently, 6-foot-5 tough guy wing Deshawn Corprew sits just outside of the 2016 Rivals150. However, he's making a serious case for inclusion when it gets updated before July's live periods. He's always been able to attack in transition, rebound and defend but he's sporting a much-improved jumper and says he's been working hard to upgrade that area of his game. Corprew said that he took an unofficial visit to Arkansas-Little Rock and mentioned that he recently shortened his list to Florida State, Cincinnati, Kansas State and Texas. "

As its name would suggest, approximately 100 of the top HS players in the country are invited to the NBPA camp each June in Charlottesville, VA. It is widely considered to be 1 of the best non-shoe co. sponsored camps of the summer for top HS hoops prospects. Along with Corprew, other KSU targets attending the camp include fellow '16s Carsen Edwards, Myles Powell, Jarrett Allen, Barret Benson, Schnider Herard, Cameron McGriff and Class of '17 prospects Jarred Vanderbilt and Trae Young.

As stated in the update linked above, Corprew has impressed at the camp with his blue collar but still skilled all around game. 247's Jerry Meyer compares his game to that of Tony Allen:

"Deshawn Corprew - If you want grit and grind, Corprew is your man. He can guard any perimeter position, rebounds well and will surprise you offensively. Corprew had a big scoring game Thursday night. Reminds me of Tony Allen of the Memphis Grizzlies in regards to style and impact on the game."

I think it's a very good sign that KSU is among the finalists for Corprew, the competition is solid, but it's almost always going to be that way to get good players like Corprew, would be great to bring him in for a visit. Recent highlights linked below.
