One visitor who probably won’t make it as scheduled is Butler County (Kansas) Community College defensive end Tramal Ivy, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound punisher off the edge who’s down to NU and Arkansas. Ivy was scheduled to visit this weekend, but Big Red Report reported Thursday night that Ivy was a scratch. Text messages and calls to Ivy went unanswered.

Once Ivy decommitted from Oklahoma State in December, interest from Nebraska and others flooded back in. Having struck out on several junior college defensive end targets in this recruiting cycle, the Huskers have pinned hopes on Ivy.

He starred at Muskogee High School in Oklahoma, notching 76 tackles and 19 sacks as a senior. Because he didn’t qualify academically out of high school, he couldn’t accept an offer from schools like Kansas State or Washington State.

Ivy said he’s motivated to make it in college sports.

“Muskogee is the kind of town where you make it out by playing a sport, or you make it out the hard way,” said Ivy, who credited his mom, Teyonda, with keeping him focused.

At this point, it’s unclear if Nebraska will get that visit and if NU has the time to look for another pass rusher who can help quickly.
