There once was a concept that safeties weren’t supposed to let anyone get deeper than them, but obviously that’s not a technique we subscribe too.
Just to pile on - just because you are nearly 70 years old doesn’t mean you are still a good coach. That you can’t teach kids to recognize that they are being isolated 1 v 1 on a speedster and it happen week after week, year after year just frustrates me to no end as a fan.
We get “schemed” every week and until we recruit a higher talent player who can flat out outrun mistakes or physically dominate without “lining up correctly” keeping the same staff in tact is insanity.
