Does your fandom override your anxiety?

Just some random musings...

The older I get, the less interested I am in seeing games live. I'm not sure if it was the liquid courage I had when I was younger that allowed me to enjoy every moment of every game I was watching, but I find that with each passing year, it's more difficult for me to sit through a live game without needing to get up and walk away for short periods of time.

I have some strange quirks:
1. I can't stand in line without wanting to just start hitting people
2. I don't do well in confined spaces
3. I can listen to 3 different conversations at once and multi-task all of them, but can't ever block one out if I'm trying to focus more on one specifically

I feel like most of these are anxiety based. At some point, my anxiety overrode my fandom. I find it easier to listen on the radio than to watch the games on TV, or live, and only after I know the results, and have brought myself to terms with those results, am I able to watch the game and begin to break down what I'm seeing.

I'm unable to just watch the game and cheer for a team, I have to critique and break down whatever I'm looking at.

Is this common, or am I crazy? I like sports for the technique and the "challenge" of trying to be better than the other team on that day schematically and technically, with less emphasis on the overall athletic feats I'm watching.

Looking for anyone who's as damaged as me. TIA.
