Among all of the linebackers on all of the Power 5 teams, nobody has put up a wider swatch of statistics than Kansas State junior Elijah Lee. Some linebackers have more tackles. Some have more sacks. But no linebacker brings more versatility and delivers a more complete game within the nation’s five major football conferences.
It was Lee’s understanding that many people expected him to be a project.
“I kind of came into college unnoticed,” Lee said. “I had to live under the shadow behind my two high school teammates. That’s something I carry on my back each and every day is that everybody overlooked me. I was one of the guys they said wasn’t going to pan out. I just go into every game, and every practice every day, and just go in there knowing there are people that doubt me.
“And that I have to prove them wrong every day.”
